Do you
want to become more confident in your understanding
of Lutheran doctrine?
Do you
feel that the Lord is calling you to a greater
commitment?
Would your
congregation and pastor benefit if you could provide
more expertise, gifts, time, and support to expand
the mission and ministry?
Do you
enjoy spiritual growth in the community of deeply
committed fellow Christians?
Are you
retired and looking for new ways to serve the Lord?
Did you answer “Yes” to any of the
above? Then you will want to consider this program.
The Lay Leadership Institute, sponsored by Iowa
District West and the College of Vocation and Ministry
of Concordia University, St. Paul, is a two-year
“integrated program” held in Fort Dodge. Classes are
taught by the theology faculty of Concordia University,
St. Paul and Iowa District West personnel.
Iowa West District President Paul Sieveking has said
the value of this program for the congregations of the
District is incalculable. “Our heavenly Father has
richly blessed our District through this program. The
participants have been exceptionally enthusiastic about
their LLI learning experiences.”
Dr. Stephen Stohlmann, previous CSP coordinator for the LLI
program, describes the partnership between District
staff and the College of Vocation and Ministry of
Concordia as a uniquely positive relationship. “The
teaching experiences have been the best in my teaching
career. I am sure the fruits for the District and its
congregations will be abundant for many years in the
lives of God’s people.”
