The Lay Leadership Institute, sponsored by Iowa District West and the College of Vocation and Ministry of Concordia University, St. Paul, is a two-year “integrated program” held in Fort Dodge. Classes are taught by the theology faculty of Concordia University, St. Paul and Iowa District West personnel.
Iowa West District President Paul Sieveking has said the value of this program for the congregations of the District is incalculable. “Our heavenly Father has richly blessed our District through this program. The participants have been exceptionally enthusiastic about their LLI learning experiences.”
Dr. Stephen Stohlmann, previous CSP coordinator for the LLI program, describes the partnership between District staff and the College of Vocation and Ministry of Concordia as a uniquely positive relationship. “The teaching experiences have been the best in my teaching career. I am sure the fruits for the District and its congregations will be abundant for many years in the lives of God’s people.”
For more information or to request an application, contact the District Office now or go to http://www.idwlcms.org/resources/forms/lli_application.pdf to download an application. Applicants need to be accepted into the program by August 15 to start the program in September 2010.
